Gilead sits on the ridge south of Campbelltown, along Appin Road, and takes its name from the Gilead estate granted in the 1810s. For most of two centuries it was farming country. It is now one of the larger housing releases in the south-west, with thousands of homes going in around the old estate.
The Gilead estate was granted in the 1810s and the name has outlasted the farm. Our family started selling flowers ninety years later and is still at it, which makes us the newcomers.
